no shutdown options mandrake 10.0

I've already posted this in the mandrake forum, but then i spotted this forum for people like me so apologies for the double post

anyway it may seem a bit of a dumb question but here goes

How do i shutdown my computer?, i can't seem to find a shutdown "button" anywhere, all i get on the kicker is log off and lock computer. I've checked the system config and changed shutdown to all users, but still don't know what to do. i also tried opening a console and typing shutdown but to no avail

if i select log off, it says logging out dave and then brings up a different looking gui that i can do nothing with. the only way i can shutdown my computer is to turn it off, not good

cheers

I had that problem too...sorta. When I tried 2 put in a new graphics card gnome wouldn't load the display adapter and the terminal wouldn't let me init0 or shutdown at all I fixed it though.
