Hi,

I am using Fedora 8. I tried to install ns 2.31. But error came as " No rule to make target "VERSION" needed by gen/version.c". Please help me in solving this issue..... I need to carry out project and I am running out of time.

fedora 8 is too old... try using fedora 13 or 14.

Welcome to LQ. .. .. ..

gen/version.c : That's a nam (-1.13) file. If you want to build nam-1.13,
you can just add a file named VERSION. Examples here ( post #23 )
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...612/page2.html

( Nam is separate application : Any nam will do.)
