No one can connect to my IRC Server

Hi,

I'm new to Linux/ubuntu and I am running an IRC Server (bahamut) which I am able to connect to via localhost. I have already port forwarded 6667-6669, 7000.

Anyone other than myself who try's to connect to my IP/Server on those ports get an error: Connection Refused.

Someone help me please.

Courtney.

Check your firewall settings. Also make sure you know the IP address that the world sees instead what you see. If you go to ipchicken.com, it will print out your IP address that the world sees. Use that for your domain records.

In order to test from your side, pick a free proxy server and use it to access your IRC server. If does not work, check the logs. The logs are located at /var/log.

Some ISP blocks certain ports, so make sure they are not blocking the range that you selected.
