No Network with 3C905 redhat9 RRHawaii Cable modem
I have ran through as many posts as I can find on this and many websites like it but have yet to find an answer or somthing to point me in the right direction.
Current set up: RoadRunner Cable modem > Blekin gatewat router static IP's assigned to two machines. One running XP and working fine. Other is dual-boot W2k Redhat 9. W2k on net, linux no go. /etc/hosts contains following: 127.0.0.1 linux.linux.net linux ifup eth0 produces RTNETLINK answers: network unreachable etc/resolv.conf nameserver 24.25.227.66 Normally I would think that I have a bad card because I am not seeing a link or activity light on the router or NIC (3c905). I can ping loopback and static IPs fine. Getting beyond that is difficult when running linux. Once I figure out how to transferr txt from Linux to MS, I will try and post IFCONFIG ETH0. Come suggestions in the mean time would be nice. Thanks. |
You don't have a shared partition on your dualboot? If you do you can use the unix2dos command to change the .txt file to dos keystrings.

Thanks for the Help
I figured out my problem. Linux not routing correctly. I have to fix the static routes. Thanks for the help, and I will look into the dos2unix.
