No Menu on Mint 15 installation

Trying to install Mint 15 on Toshiba M35X laptop, have tried with a wiped HD and with a clean XP installation. I get the Linux Mint display and the 10 second count down BUT never goes to the menu for installation or run options.

Does it have a memory upgrade? The original M35X came with 256MB, which is about half what Mint needs. If you still have the small memory, try AntiX: that works fine in 128MB.

Thanks for your suggestion but I added memory many yaers ago to a total of 760MB.It seems to me it should not require any memory just to display the installation memory. I wonder if I need a special version of Linux for a laptop? Thanks for your help.

You certainly don't need anything special. If the installation disk doesn't work, it's probably faulty. Did you check the download's md5 sum to make sure the file wasn't faulty (rare)? And did you burn at the minimum speed to make sure the disk wasn't faulty (common)?

I went to install it on my desk computer, except since I did not want to do that. Just wanted to set it up less the confirmation to write. Any way everything went as expected got menu and was able to run it in live mode. I've given up on trying to install it on my laptop Toshiba M35X-S109, thanks for your reply.
