No matter which version I install there are printerissues.
I have an HP P1005 laser and a Brother MFC-J450DW. The only version that would run both is the new Ubuntu but...its a bit of a pain with some basic functions missing...like having to install software just to make a desktop shortcut. Seriously!! So far my favorite is the new Mint 19...but no matter what...printer installed, most recent drivers, latest version of HP toolbox...error messages everytime. It wont even give me a test page.
Well, to save people having to look it up, how do these things connect: cable or wireless? Then, how did you try to install each one? Obviously you used the HP installation tool, but did you use a desktop configuration tool or CUPS for the Brother? And, exactly what were the error messages?
