That's a mini-computer...

You need to find out if and how your USB Internet device is see by Ubuntu. Open a terminal and use the command "sudo lsusb". The device should be on the list of results.

Use whatever information you get to search the Internet for more help. Posts I've found say it works with linux, that is if your the linux kernel is sufficiently new.

Since Ubuntu 10.02 is a bit old that might be your problem, and you might have better luck with the newest Ubuntu using a lightweight desktop.

The problem is that you have to first install Ubuntu, without a GUI for 12.10, and then add a desktop. You might find it would be easier to try the latest Mintlinux with XFCE. It can be installed using a USB flash drive so it should work on your SD card.

Wi-Fi...

You should be able to connect to an Internet mobile broadband service with a USB modem. Again, look on the Internet for which modems supported in linux can be used with the Internet service provider you want to or have to use.

Most distributions use USB_ModeSwitch to configure the devices to make a connection.
