no internet. transfer fdupes via flash drive to ubuntu. how?

hi,

i temporarily have no internet, but i have access to a computer that does. i want to put fdupes on a flash drive and transfer it to the computer without internet and install it. my command-line skills are 'ok'.

could i get help with this? thanks.

edit:
i forgot to mention that i already checked the synaptic for the program and the box is not checked, meaning that it (fdupes) is not installed.

Please tell us which Distro and version you are using!
For Ubuntu Maverick, here is the link. You can download the .deb file and transfere it to the target Ubuntu system, then just double-click on it to open it with Software Centre to install!
libc6 appears to be the only dependancy, which is already installed on my system so there should be no problem to install!

hello glue,

sorry, i failed to mention that my version is lucid. i took the link you provided and substituted maverick with lucid. it sent me to the proper file (perhaps the same file as maverick). i also grabbed the lib6 as well, since there was a link handy right there on the same page.

it's been a little while since i installed anything on ubuntu. deb files are great. i also grabbed the tar.gz just in case i need to compile, which i have somehow been able to pull off the last couple of times i tried.

thanks for the reply, i hope that you keep an eye on the thread in case i need more guidance. i will probably have to use an android phone the next time i reply. definitely not as convenient.
