No internet connection in MEPIS
I recently installed MEPIS 3.3.1 on my Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop after having too much trouble with display problems installing Ubuntu.
The installation went fine, however i can not seem to establish any connection to the internet, either through ethernet card or the wireless network. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the router I am connected to or is it just a lack of 'know-how'?
My wireless card is a "Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card", my Network card is an "Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection" and the router is a "Dell Wireless 2350 Broadband Router"
I've looked at the thread created by user 'ollywompus' regarding ndiswrapper etc but it did not help much!
If anyone can help me or offer any advice that would be excellent!

First as root ifconfig -a
and iwconfig
what do they say?
the ethernet card would be easy but you want wireless with that router or does it have an ethernet port that you could use? Here is some info on the wireless card;

This looks better yet;

lo no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
I'm basically just trying to connect it to the internet so i can update the packages, however i would like to get the wireless to work so i can put the ethernet back on my pc (the one i'm using to access this site) also i'd like to be able use it in school (wireless internet there as well). As seen above it does not even seem to even recognize my wireless hardware. Everything above just confuses me and i have no idea if its even valuable info.

Thanks for your help though.
I think it just requires a little more digging through the internet.
