No icons and KControl keeps crashing
 

Hi,
somehow all the icons on my desktop have dissapeared and when I attempt to got into the icon theme editor within KControl it crahses, all the other editors are ok. I attempted to install a new icon theme using info I found at http://home.uwnet.nl/~vita/linux/ico...e-install.html but I'm still left with no icons. This must be a real easy thing so I must be missing something very basic - any ideas?

I'm using :
Knoppix 3.3 (harddrive install)
KDE 3.1.2

I just threw the Knoppix 3.3 CD on my family's home computer (just got back from school). Booted up fine and all that, nice and snappy. However, icons are missing, as well as graphics for menu icons, both for the menu itself and for *some* items within the menus. It's not too good of a demo CD for the family if it's not showing all the nice GUI stuff they are used to.

I run Fedora Core 1 on my laptop and I'm running a Slack install on an old comp we have at home right now. When I used this same Knoppix LiveCD on other comps, I had no problems. I will try re-running the CD, if that doesn't work, I'll check the docs/knoppix-cheatcodes for details on this issue.
