Sorry I had a typo. I meant I haven't a backup OS on any of those devices. I would like to I.stall to the flashdrive. It is 32gb. Is it possible to connect online with linux mint from the bios and install to my flashdrive from there? Linux mint was just an example, at this moment I don't really care shich OS is used as long as it works.
Although, depending on your hardware it is possible to install from the BIOS i.e PXE. However, it requires a separate server to host the files which you may not have the extra hardware or a task that you want to take on at the moment.
Installing an image to the flash drive on another PC is your only choice at the moment.
I have a friend that uses ArchLinux and he let me connect via Internet and clone his OS. It wasn't easy and I don't recall all the steps taken to get this done. This allowed me to have something to work with. Now I have Ubuntu 9.10 running, which is good for now. I just needed something, anything till my new cpu arrives.
Thank you
