No GUI Log on screen Gentoo

Just finshed installing Gentoo as a change from Ubuntu and there is no log on screen just a command line where it asks me to log on. Can u please give me advice ASAP

log on with your user name & password then type in startx...

you should be able to edit /etc/inittab to get the GUI up & running permanently...

You simply need to edit /etc/conf.d/xdm. Here's how to:

Have you installed Xorg?
Have you installed xdm/gdm/kdm?
Have you configured Xorg?

In order to have X Windows you need to follow the X Server Configuration HOWTO
Then follow either the KDE, Gnome, or FluxBox HowTo
