No Graphical Interface

I am using dual-boot, one for windows and other for Linux.
Recently i have installed centOS 6 and no issues using then.
Today i have installed all updates blindly without looking what is what and after restarting the system, i am getting a blank screen after selecting Centos.Tried unsuccessfully to boot using both the old kernel as well as updated kernel.
At present i am working on single-user mode.
Please help me out for graphical login.

thanks in advance.

I would like to see if the correct module of you video card is loaded.
So post here the result of your lsmod.
Don't forget to tell us what is your video card model.
Another thing is to take a look at your dmesg log.

my video card model is Radeon HD 5750.
Initially i installed the video drivers and i was able to login and work in graphical mode.
The issue started only after installing all the latest updates.

I'm afraid i cant post all as the dmesg log contains a long list of lines.Let me know what exactly you are looking at so that i can post those lines only.
Same for lsmod also.

if you are using the propitiatory driver and not the open version that was installed at time of install
reinstall the driver from ati's web site

that propitiatory driver MUSTbe reinstalled for EVERY kernel update

Use
Code:

X -probeonly
This performs all the X Server startup tasks, WITHOUT actually starting X, but it will show all the msgs :)
