no file appear if i ftp my ip

i use fedora3, enable vsftpd, security set to enable ftp too.
but if i ftp my computer ip, i only see a link "Up to higher level directory," and i am quite sure that directory is under /var/ftp because if i go ftp://myIP/pub (/var/ftp/pub exists), it will give me another empty screen(with the same link describe above) and if i go ftp://myIP/abc (that directory doesnt exist) i will have an error. i have already set the permission of /var/ftp and everything in it to 755. Anyone know what problem is that??

forget to mention that if i click that link (Up to higher...) i will be in ftp://myIP/..
and i see the same link again, i can click that link forever and i will go to ftp://myIP/../../../.....
