no eth0 at slackware
i have just installed slackware. but when i try to use my network card it is not there. ifconfig does not show eth0 and when i ping i get "network is unreacheble" is there a way to install the eth0?

Is the driver for your network card loaded? You can try modprobe to load it.

tnx but that did not work so i reinstalled slackware it works fine now

FWIW, if you want to rerun the net setup stuff, all you have to do it type "netconfig." It's a lot faster than reinstalling the OS.

Amen ;) Many people just take quite a while to rid themselves of the Microsoft solutions. The big three RE's re-boot re-install re-ach for valium ;) Cheers, Tink |
