back to 'drake 9.1 but still no sucess.

1.) In GUI Controle Panel/Hardware all modem ID's are listed correctly. Vendor ID etc, except my HSF is shown as HSP , and I have Module: Unknown
2.) In cat /proc/pci I get Bus 1, Device 4, Function 0, IRQ 16,Master Capable latency =32, Memory at 0xec000000,[0xec000666],
I/O at 0xc000 [0xc007].
3.) Using setserial command I get command unknown.
4.) As root also I get permission denied when I try - less /var/log,
this really gets my goat as I thought as root I could see into the mind of God.
It's all loking abit hopless. Oh I also have an external serial modem(Pace,voice,Fax,Data,56K) but as I only have one serial port to which I have a Graphic Tablet Connected I can't really use that. Would a Serial PCI card work,or a serial to USB converter worker,as I have 6 USB,s 2.
Also I think in ls -l /dev/modem I have a -> ttyS0 and HSF listed.
