No desktop interaction

I've got a considerable problem here. Without putting any new software or hardware, whenever I boot my computer in Red Hat 9, I have no desktop icons, I can't right click on my desktop, and I can't find Nautilus to view any mounted devices. This happens in root as well as my user log in. What do I do?!

I would just reinstall. It sounds like you have just recently installed anyways, so just try that and see if it fixes it
