No desktop as root

I initially logged in as root, to set-up and config some items(Gnome), I saved the session and logged out. Now when I try to log-in as root, I get a blank desktop, only the default background shows(Gnome). When I log-in as user it's fine. Could someone have a clue? Thanks.

it's probably a problem with the configuration you setup - god knows what. the easiest way to fix it is to get rid of the .gnome* files in your root directory, and just go back in reconfig it. (you want to use root as little as possible, so don't waste too much time making it pretty)

you can do a console login and do that, or just use the "su" command from a terminal in a regular account.

Thanks, for the info. It worked, but I think I'm going to revert back to 7.1. RH 7.2 seems to be agonizingly slow. In the GUI.
