Are you using a burning program to burn the ISO image to a DVD?

If you use a USB drive then use either Rufus or Etcher.

Are you sure you require the 32-bit version and not 64-bit?

What are the specs of your computer (make/model,hard drive,CPU)?

I tried both Rufus and Etcher for Mint Xfce but couldn't get a bootable drive (32 bit) - the instructions did say if you can't get usb to work then burn a dvd.

Are you inserting the dvd's in a laptop dvd drive? (Sorry if that's a silly question - assume you are?) and what is currently installed on the laptop? If it's windows then just right click on the iso after it's downloaded and select "burn" and it will start burning the dvd. If it doesn't start burning the dvd and fails it might be a used dvd hence showing 0GB but some dvd burning programs say all sorts of weird things unless you start the right processes.

If you're using linux then I have burned dvd's with brasero in the past. So install brasero and use that. Again if it won't burn the dvd then it may already have been used before.
