No battery indicator in Linux on my dual boot laptop

I just installed Oneiric Ocelot on my Toshiba L-655, making it dual-boot. So far I love it except I have no battery indicator in the status bar. Is it possible to get this feature installed. Please help. Dave Luzius

What DE are you using?

Are you using Gnome, KDE or other DE? You probably just need to run the right application, that is probably at the 'system' menu, and has 'power' on its name, but to get more specific, I'd need to know your desktop environment.
