No audio (Debian 6.0.5 amd64)
Hello. I am quite new to Linux, and I recently installed the Debian OS. Everything is working swimmingly expect for the audio - there is none. I looked at this page: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...n-debian-3018/ but nothing really helped the problem.
Output of (the audio part):
Code:
02:00.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation Device 0bee (rev a1)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device 83c2
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11
Memory at fbffc000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: [60] Power Management version 3
Capabilities: [68] MSI: Enable- Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+
Capabilities: [78] Express Endpoint, MSI 00
ALSA (and ALSA-OSS) packages are installed. The message I get when I try to open volume control is: "The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plug-ins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured.". The page I refereed to earlier, talks about 'alsamixer', and if it helps, when Debian starts, at the part where alot of text streams down the screen before the GUI loads, there are about 10 messages saying something about a 'mixer' and an invalid argument.
