Lightbulb No amatures! edit XF86config?

Installed RH9 and the keyboard either fails to respond or at seemingly random intervals works but the "hangs" about half the time and repeats endlessly.

Keyboard came from gateway and is USB. The keyboard works fine in Windows and dos.

Called Red Hat, they said "maybe" a new keyboard OR I could edit the XF86config BUT they don't recomend it.

Well, you're new to Linux, and new to LQ (welcome) and yes, we got a lot of forums. However, whatever you post it *will* get noticed, so you shouldn't cross-post stuff.

Try tapping the spacebar while booting. Sometimes linux has a little difficulty detecting usb devices on boot. Worked on my laptop.
