nistnet kernel booting problem

Hai frds,
i have been struggling with nistnet from so many days. finally i installed nistnet on suse linux 8.0. when i type xnistnet i m getting the x based window. but on the console panel it is telling that
globalstatnistnet: no such device
and other commands like Load.Nistnet, Cnistnet are not working. then i tried with installation of modules. the proceedure i have done is
cd /usr/src/linux
make menuconfig
make modules
make install
make modules_install
reboot
then problem occured the linux is unable to boot in the kernel and i can only work with the linux-safesettings.
when i m booting with the main it is telling tat
request_module[scsi_hostadapter] Root fs not mounted
insmod: aic7xxx: no module by that name found.
insmod: reiserfs: no module by that name found
kmod :failed to exec/sbin/modprobe_s_k block_major_8, errno = 2
VFS: cannot open root device "815" or 8:15
please append a correct "roo=" boot option
kernel panic:VFS : unable to mount root fs on 8:15
so can anyone please solve my problems....i ll be thankful to u a lot. waiting fr the reply.
thnx in advance
Kiran
