NICs issue

hi guys

this is Suse 11 x64

I found something this server has 4 interface the ones - eth0...eth3.... but only eth0 is responding
eth0 - 100
eth1 - 101
eth2 - 102
eth3 - 103

the test I am doing is I connect cable to eth1 and I ping and I get no respond but If I connect cable to interface eth0 I get response from
but If I connect back to eth1 I don't respond from any IP

any idea why? it's like eth0 activates all the IPs

thanks a lot

Probably bridged or bonded

(I know it's not about Suse, but you should get the idea)
