NFTS sata raid drives - won't mount

I'm convinced that I won't be able to see the files I've saved on my NFTS formatted SATA RAID 0 array while I've got Linux running. I'm wondering if anyone had any success with a rig similar to mine. I tried a few things but it refuses to mount the volume. Let me give you some history:

I have a single 120 GB IDE hard drive with Windows XP Pro and Mandrake 10.0 in a dual-boot config. I also have two 80 GB WD SATA drives in a RAID 0 array. I use these disks to store mp3's and jpeg's. I installed these drives while I still had only Win XP, so they are formatted in NFTS. After I installed MDK I could see the Windows files on my IDE drive, but my SATA drives only frightened and confused Mandrake. After some research I learned how to "build" a RAID array by editing the raidtab file and using the mkraid command. When it came time to mount the volume, I got the message "Cannot mount volume - incorrect fs, bad superblock or too many devices mounted".

I decided to experiment. I backed up the data on the drives, then I re-partitioned them as Linux raid-autodetect and reformatted the drives in the native Linux format. After taking these steps and re-creating the RAID array, the volume mounted perfectly. Of course, Windows won't even pretend to acknowledge the drives in this format. I even tried FAT32 as a compromise, but Windows will only recognize one hard drive in the array.

My goal is finding a solution that both OS's can handle. Can anyone think of something that I overlooked?
