Exclamation nfs mount breaks things

I have a colocated server where I host several websites.
They were all fine until my colo host was doing some messing
yesterday. Now all my websites that do any writing (I have smarty sites that compile and cache, and even the basic sites log, so basically all my webs) are breaking with bad permissions and it says they are attempting to write to an off box nfs mount that is the backup copy of my filesystem. Obviously I want them to log and compile and cache etc. to the local copy like they did yesterday Two questions: where do I look to find the cause of this? and how do I fix it? Thank you
