nfs compatibility on linux kernel 2.6.9

Hi, i noticed one startling problem on my newly upgraded linux 2.6.9. My nfs server cannot work properly anymore. Is there any way to make it work? I tried setting up nfs server on both a linux 2.4.21 and a linux 2.6.9 and realized that it works fine on 2.4.21 but not on 2.6.9, ie, the client cannot detect the nfs server on linux 2.6.9 but works perfectly fine when it tries to mount from 2.4.21. Has anyone faced similar problem? Any solutions to this?

2.6.9? gads, that's old. Is this a vanilla redhat 9.0 install? By "upgrade" did you upgrade the distro or just the kernel?

I might speculate a nfs version conflict. What distro/kernel are your clients using? Can you force nfsv3 on either side? I know there was an NFS bug in a newer kernel (2.6.12 or 16 or 18, don't remember which), but even that detected & connected. How are you trying to connect?

Hi smallbook, just do the same thing right now, I also have problem in configuring NFS.

Do you have the error message for the failure?
It might be very helpful to the linux guru here :D
