NFS and Samba Server and client configuration- I.P. and Username difference

When we configure samba client we give existing "username" who can access that samba share like #smbclient -L server name (or I.P.) -U username.
But while configuring NFS Server we give only I.P. in /etc/exports of that machine that can access this share like /nfsfileshare Client-I.P.(rw,sync,no_root_squash)
My Question is- Can we use existing "username" in place of Client-I.P. in NFS server configuration?
I am new to this.

No, with NFS a client is another computer that requires access to the share on the server. Basic user permissions are based on the uid, gid.

So what are you trying to accomplish?

Well, there is nfsidmap - which provides translation tables for translating remote uid/gid into local uid/gid.

It is just usually easier to use the same UID/GIDs on the NFS client as those used on the NFS server.
