Unhappy Newbie sound card problems

Hello out there, this is my first post here... I seem to be having troubles with my sound card.

I just installed Redhat 8.0, and fully updated the kernal to the latest version. It would appear that it has detected my Sound Blaster as a Esoniq sound card, which from this forum I have been able to deduce is a good thing. However whenever I try to play any audio at all nothing happens, I cannot find soundcfg or sndconfig anywhere, so that rules out anything involving that command.

Could it be because I have 2 soundcards in my computer? Both are Sound Blaster PCI 128s (I use my computer for DJing and would like to keep both if I can). Anyway could someone point me in the right direction? I'm very new to linux, so details are a good thing.

Thank you very much,
