Newbie needs help with debian

I uncompressed my network card drivers and everything but when I actually try to test them or install them i get the error "QM_Functions not enabled" and I have no clue how to fix this or get around this and basically i get the QM_Functions module error whenever i try to do anything with modules, making it very hard to get anything for my debian package, cant quite do everything with knoppix...

You are trying that as root, I assume?

Please provide more information. For example, what command do you use to load that kernel module, and what kernel you are running on.
