Newbie mysql guide?
Hi,
Could someone point me to a good linux specific mysql tutorial/guide on the net. I googled it but couldnt find a decent one. Also, if someone could tell me if mysql comes with a demo database that I could practice on, I would appreciate it.
Thanks
K. Gill

The full manual in HTML format is provided in /usr/doc/mysql-yourversion/Docs. Chapter 3 contains a tutorial.
MySql does not come with a demo database? It comes with a test database (which is empty). I do not really see the use for that one, but that's a personal opinion. It would probably have been better if they had implemented the database as described in chapter 3.

did you try www.mysql.com. chapter 3 is pretty helpful to get you started in creating databases/ tables/ inputting data into tables, delete/search, etc. If you do a search in google you will find helpful forums as well.
