I installed a Airlink Wireless-G 802.11g pcimca card and the system (ubuntu)recognizes it but when i go to save the settings it locks up and requires a hard boot.

Probably need a more detailed description of the wireless card - exact model and version number. These vendors have a way of changing the guts of the card and just bumping up the rev number. Then check the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) on this forum or do some Googling to determine the best driver to use.
To check the status of your wireless card, you can run the following commands as root - if you post the output back here, this will help us determine where you're at: lsmod lspci ifconfig iwconfig Good luck. |
