Smile Newbie!!!!!!

Heyy evreyone! I'm new here, AND new to linux. Is there anything important that I should know? I play the "Sims 2" and "Sims 2 University" so hopefully it will work on it. Thanks!

Tools like Cedega and Wine can be used to run windows apps (including games) under Linux.

Thanks. I downloaded wine, from www.winehq.com and once my brother installed it. Evreything on the desktop disappeared. We can't even right click! I'm so mad! :@ We're using "Mandrake 10.1". What happend?!

Well, it froze once and we have to restart the machine...it started up once and now trying to figure out how to run the sims 2 in it.

If you're running wine raw, you can run "wine <path to winexe>.exe" in the command line.

k we don't have wine raw...any other ideas? (I need the sims 2 to work)

Instead of normal Wine, what about trying Cedega (aka WineX). You can get it for free from their cvs (check out http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/...p?articleid=45 for how to do this), or pay for a subscription.
Also, I just did a quick search and came up with: http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/games...l?game_id=3284
The 1 star playability doesn't look so good
