Newbie's Questions, Need for your help.

Hi, I am new to linux and I have installed redhat 9 (workstation install mode) successfully on my computer. After several months of trying, I found it's more difficult than I have ever imagined before. Below is some of my questions need for your help:

1. Can U recommend me some of the most popular ftp search engine cover software for linux in form of RPM or Tarball?

2. Recently I am learning how to install xine, can U show me which software I need and what sequence to install them.

Thanks and looking forward to your answer.
