I can't seem to grasp this file system.. can anyone possibly help me out a bit? I feel stupid for posting such a dumb thread but I feel so lost haha.

Windows mover? Program installation is easy. Email me at binjajer_at_gmail.com, I'll teach you how to do that.

Peace

its not so much a 'problem' its more I don't know how to do things...IE, Install things, uninstall things, the only thing I know is how to change my paswords become a superuser and yast2 lol.

I've been reading some info files, but keep in mind i've been using windows since it was 3.1 and have never used anything else, so having such a complex system setup is a big change for me lol.

I know control + alt + escape trick, control alt backspace some things like that

but whats like... fstab, its all very confusing, just kinda looking for some lamens terms on it all! thanks!

(yes i'm an idiot hahah)

YaST2 is the way to install most software. Simply select "Software Managment" and you'll get a nice tool to search and install software. I can recommend to read the SUSE user manual (can be installed through YaST).

Your request "Tell me how it works" is asked a little too much in this forum. Take a good Linux book and it will answer most of your questions. If you still have particular questions, this is the place to ask them. One by one ;)

having recently migrated to linx about 4 months ago and having 32 different distrobutions in that time period. the only thing i can do is recommend is to feel around the operating system itself. In my case my box is a secondary computer so i can afford to lose a file or too butif not then google it .
