Arrow New with libs... need help installing.

I am trying to install some programs that are .rpm with SuSE 9. I will get errors saying that I need specific libs. Do I need to download these or activate them somehow in the console? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

For many rpm packages, there is another rpm package with a 'lib' prefix to the name. This is often true for kde rpm's.

You could use an rpm query to find what package supplies the library you need. 'rpm -q --whatprovides <libraryname>'

You could use kpackage to show what is required. Googling for the library, your distro and version often supplies the answer.
