New versions of kernel 4.12 hang at splash screen

I updated to the newest version of kernel 4.12 last week for fedora 26.
I am using a p2, 4gb ram, 1 tb hdd.
I was loading with the last version of kernel 4.11.
Today I rebooted, and grub boot list contained only the last several kernel 4.12 versions. I tried each of them, and the pc would hang at the splash screen.
I tried the fedora rescue entry, but it was for fedora 25.
How do I get past the splash screen?
Thanks.

If you have a bootable usb/cd/dvd you might boot it and try to catch grub to load the older kernel or use it to boot to view logs. Live boot may be able to fix grub to get old kernel.

May be possible to catch grub loader too. I usually don't have much luck on that.

If you've still got the good 4.11 kernel on your F26 partition(s), another option would be to boot off a bootable USB/CD/DVD, mount the partition(s) containing F26 (don't forget to bind-mount /proc, /dev, /sys, and /run), chroot to F26 and remove one or more of the offending 4.12 kernels. If grub.cfg doesn't pick up the 4.11 kernel, you may need to run (as root)
Code:
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
or just add an entry in grub.cfg manually.

New versions of kernel 4.12 hang at splash screen

Thanks to the replies.
I checked today Oct. 11th, and the login screen was displayed.
It must of taken several hours to get there.
I was able to login as my username.
