New To unix (but old in age) Question about syslogs


Could somone provide some information regarding syslogs?

For starters take a look at the syslog config file. It lets you choose where to store the logs and how often to use logroate on them.

/etc/syslog.conf

syslog-ng is a freebie add on product for managing syslogs from multiple servers. It works well.
