Angry New to this - want to know about Linux first will it as Maemo be compatible with PC

I no nothing about Linux just that it is free software and growing. I would like to learn about it and found this forum while looking for answers about Maemo being the software on the Mobile I intend to buy need to know if I can download/upload from this type of software to and from my Windows Vista PC. That is the stuff I have at the momen.I did think of getting a Laptop which could have Linux on it but I need to learn more first. Sorry I do go on. Probs of old age !!!

Not real sure about your question.... Are you asking if Linux will be compatible with your current pc?

From what I just read here on page 90 you can, but the files are hidden by defualt. You will need to "show hidden files" from your folder options in vista.
