new to scripting

can someone help me write a script in linux?
I want to use lame to change wave files in one directory, and out put them as mp3 in a different directory.

I think it would looks something like:

lame -b 128 /home/user1/wave/*.wav /home/user1/mp3/*.mp3

does this sound about right?

other than input in command line, how do I make an executable script?

Put that command into a file, and at the top, place:

Save the file as the command you wish to run....and then chmod +x - and run it.
