Hello, welcome to LQ and welcome to the wondeful world of Linux!
I personally started here: http://www.slackbook.org/html/index.html
While it is focused on Slackware linux, it is as close to a pure linux system as it gets, mainly because most (if not all) packages in Slackware are unmodified and if you want to configure something, you do it via tweaking the config file on your own without any wizards and third-party tools to do it for you. Other than that, it depends on what distribution you'd like to use. Most of them have a great wiki (ubuntu, archlinux for example) with lots of beginner pages. Pick your distro and head to their site. If you stumbe upon any difficulties, step by at LQ and we'll do our best to give you a hand. Have a great day now!

You might want to take a look at The Linux Documentation Project. There's a tremendous amount of information there.
