New To Linux(using Suse 11.1) Need lots of help
Hello all,
I'm new to using Linux, completely, but I really want to learn. So I have many questions. 1. Where is a good place to learn all the basic line commands? 2. Dual boot (using Grub) I have two hard drive one with XP and the other with Suse 11.1 I want Suse to be the main and windows to be the secondary. Is there a straight through walk through of the process? 3. The system seems choppy is their any reason for this? I have so many more but I think if I ask to many I won't be helped.... |

I would like to fix the choppiness first:
Processor (CPU): Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz Speed: 2,000.00 MHz Cores: 2 Total memory (RAM): 1.9 GB Free memory: 959.2 MB (+ 626.4 MB Caches) Free swap: 2.0 GB OS: Linux 2.6.27.19-3.2-pae i686 Current user: Ichiro@Ichiro System: openSUSE 11.1 (i586) KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 4.9" What I mean by choppy is if I go to a webpage or something with a lof of graphics the scroll seems very choppy. Even scrolling my mouse across the screen becomes choppy Part of me thinks that this is happening because I couldn't find my monitor on the list.... so maybe it is set up wrong. Or it could be my Graphics card isn't get up for Linux. Either way I'd need help to fix that. Thanks for the link to the basic commands. |
