New to Linux

Hello Members

This is Frank,I am a BS IT student and working as a System Support Technician. I am new to Linux and have some questions about it.

Q.1 Do all the distributions of Linux have both GUI and non-GUI mode?

Q.2 Does the distribution of Linux means their versions?

Thanks

Hi ane welcome to LQ.

1. All distros have the Command Line Interface (CLI) and a great majority of them have the GUI on top of them installed by default.
2. In its simplest terms, yes. Have a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_distribution
