Lightbulb new to linux


im new to linux....my dad brought red hat 9.0 from his work because no one knows how to use it.......i go to school and am enroled in the cisco networking acamedy..im 17 and wanted to know of linux realy...im waiting to get a biger hard drive on my small computer to put red hat on it i was just wondering if any one could tell me what linux can do.......what could a 17 year old do with it at home what could i do to ocupy my self when im at home bord....? thats all i wanted to know

anything you are likely to want to do on windows, you should be able to do on linux...

I don't think I'll be installing it though - I have enough problems instructing people at work how to get shot of the MS one!

as soon as I checked that link, I thought "bugger that for a game of soldiers"

but acid's right, though it's worth mentioning that games support can be a bit of a sore point

...so you are wanting to aquire a Knoppx CD (run Linux from a CD without installing it to your hard drive) VIA download or cheap CD purchase....
