new suse 8 installation...couple of probs.

I have just converted one of my drives to a suse installation the other day, I know very little about linux. I have a few questions that I think come under newb category:

1. I can't get Lilo to dual boot my win2k installation, I checked the config and it looks right, it notes my windows installation and the right hard drive. The win2K is on a completely separate disk, I can change the bios settings to boot from that disk and it works fine.

2. We are doing some work with portmapper and rpcinfo at uni, but when I plug these commands into Konsole it says command not recognized. They are in the man pages though. Did I miss installation of something, these are related to Sun RPC?

3. How do I configure my audigy emu10ksys driver to ouput on the digital channel, it is outputting fine on the analog channel but would like to use my digital speakers?

Besides these minor teething issues, LInux so far is excellent, KDE 3.0 is tops and the amount of software I got with Suse is unbelievable, everything I could need. The community has done an excellent job.

thanks for assistance.

for portmapper / rpcinfo you need root privileges

try: su ( root pw )
