New OS

I have downloaded and ran Austrumi-2.1.6 "Live CD" and although the OS booted up and connected to the Internet easily enough i just can't find the option to make the OS boot up using the English language. I must be missing something but can't figure out what? Would appreciate any help. Thanks all.

It is multilingual and as I recall it boots to a root desktop, which is handy too... good distro !

Distro Watch only gives a link to Austrumi 1.5.0 while i am trying to use Austrumi-2.1.6

How do i get it to boot up using the English language?

Well, if it is based on Ubuntu, try this:

As soon as you start booting from the CD and get to the ISOLinux boot menu, you may see a list of languages (If it is based on Lucid (10.04 LTS) or higher, press the right arrow key first). The list of languages may pop up, and from there, select "English").

Hi Kenny

When i got to the boot menu there were a few options available but not what i wanted. I was then informed that if i wanted more options i had to press the 'F1' key. Having pressed the F1 key i noticed the following:

lang_xx where xx - locale (el, em, es, fr, hu, it, lx, Itg, ru, uk)

As i couldn't select an option using right-hand key i let the OS load and then tried every combination of lang_uk and locale i could think of with out any success. I bet i am over looking something simple.

By the way Austrumi is based on Slackware.

http://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20100906 link to your Austrami...

Another thing which became obvious (once I'd re-installed) is that the desktop remembers the user's language settings, removing the need to manually choose a language at the boot menu.

So you should be able to select the chosen language with the arrow keys... that is if your download and burn are good. ?
