Unhappy New menu for internet

when I 1st loaded Mint, there was a seperate menu with Intenet connections etc ..
Now it has disappeared.. they only way to get to the net is to open the Forums option.

i have tried to create a new menu but cannot get the icons to cross to it..

Please help.. I love Linux and do not have a dual boot machine anymore..( I reformatted to remove Win.. I was having too much trouble with its installer constantly messing around. )

Thank you ..

Hi Kerfy,
Are you talking about after having booted into your desktop environment (gnome? kde? other?) or are you doing everything from a virtual terminal? If it's from the desktop environment, can you remember what application you were running that had the menu you're talking about? What you're describing doesn't sound familiar to me but maybe it's some special Mint thing.
ciao,
jdk
