New KDE version installation...

Dear all,

A small question :

As I'm planning to upgrade my KDE version to 3.2, I'm wondering what will happens to my current version...
Do I have to remove it (and, in that case, how can achieve this ?) or will this upgrade really 'upgrade' my current KDE.

In other words, in a few months, will I have on my PC the multiple versions of KDE (3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 ) aside ?

Lot of thanks in advance.

PS: I plan to update using the Mandrake packages...

I don't know what version on mandrake you're using, but I recently upgraded Mandrake 10.0 to KDE 3.2.2. All I did was find a reposatory with KDE 3.2.2 rpms for Mandrake 10.0, set them up via urpmi and then ran "urpmi --auto-select --force" from a console.

Basically, what it did is look at the KDE 3.2 packages I had installed, and updated them with KDE 3.2.2 packages. So in otherwords, KDE 3.2 evolved into KDE 3.2.2. This should be the same for upgrading KDE 3.1.x to KDE 3.2

This reposatory I used for my MDK10.0 KDE 3.2.2 upgrade also has a reposatory for upgrading MDK 9.2 to KDE 3.2.1. SO if you're using MDK 9.2, check this page out:

Hope it helps,
