New Installation Woes

Hello,
I recently installed suse 9.1 via ftp to one of the machines here at work. I installed it alongside windows xp pro. Linux boots fine, but windows will no longer boot. it says disk read error, press ctrl+alt+del to restart. However, in the file manager in linux you can see the files for windows. What has happened? I have done this using the CD's plenty of times to other computers with no problems. What can I do to get windows to boot again?

Thanks,

Robert Weis

Disk read error typically indicates an actual problem with the hard-disk
try using the xp rescue console to chkdsk the volume, or, umount it in linux, and fsck it, making sure to specify an NTFS filesystem, although, you wont be able to write to it

It seems that there's something wrong with the boot-loader configuration for linux.
Check the configuration (should be grub under suse i guess). Perhaps the boot-point for the xp system points to the wrong partition.
