New Hardware spec please
 

Totally screwed up with trying to install every Linux distro under the sun on a machine I give up.

I would like for someone to give me a list of parts that when built into a machine will run Mandrake or Debian without hardware fault. Parts that I can buy from Internet stores or local shops names model numbers etc THAT WORK.

I will be building my machine over the next two weeks to the spec posted here so please post your list. Thanks .

BTW the Scenic from Fujiitsu siemens is crap and will not repeat not run any form of linux.

You could try browsing the HCL (Hardware Compatibility List) here on linuxquestions.org to get an idea of what hardware is well supported.
Mandrake even has a hardware database you can search.
Maybe you'll get lucky, but to be honest I don't think anyone here is going to post an entire list of linux compatible components with model numbers and everything.
Maybe I'm wrong, good luck anyway!
